Turn an optimised shell into a practical pit with ramps, berms and a waste dump.
In this course you design a practical open pit in Surpac. You start with a simple pit built from string tools, then prepare real design data: ore outlines, Whittle shell outlines from the block model and slope values. Using the pit design tools you define starting strings, slope methods and ramps, expand bench by bench with berms, edit and restart designs, and build switchbacks. Finally you create a DTM of the design, intersect it with topography, report grade and tonnes inside the pit, and design a waste dump and calculate its volume.
